CAN offers organizational audits for NGOs, allowing them to evaluate areas of strength and weaknesses. Areas audited include: organizational structure and design; board governance; mission and programs; public information; fundraising; annual reports; personnel management; financial management; and community relations.
Organizational audits can happen in several ways. An NGO interested in learning more about itself can request an audit as part of an overall internal evaluation. A donor (church, company, individual) who wants to know more about the organization in which he wants to invest can also request an audit from CAN on such organization. Audits will only be done when permission is granted by the NGO. Organizational audits are, however, mandatory for any member organization as part of the criteria to become certified by CAN.
Please contact us if you are interested in having an audit performed on your organization.
